Small Business can become Big Business

There’s a lot of difference between a small and informal trade business, and a structured and systematised one. I’m Zoltan, from CFO@CALL and my goal is to helps people take their business from small and informal to bigger, structured and systematised, and of course, more profitable and more secure as well. I  have read a variety of business writers and there is a common theme that seems to appear, that small business kind of works, and the big business kind of works, and then in between is a bit ordinary. Let me explain. When you’re small, there’s only a few of you, overheads are very low, you probably work from home, you can all talk to each other all the time, systems aren’t as necessary because you’re all there, helping each other out. It’s all in your head, ‘there’s enough’. You can cope, you can manage the workload and the stress load, and the number of things you need to think about.

The Business Machine

When you’re big, you’ve got people in place and systems in place. If you have worked with me you would have heard me talk about the framework and the machines:
  • Marketing machine
  • Sales machine
  • Operations machine
  • Back office machine
  • The people running those machines
  • You overseeing
So when that’s in place, it works again. It’s great!

Being In Between

In between, when those machines aren’t quite built, but it’s too big, and there’s too much going on for you to be holding it all in your head, it’s a bit hard to work. So, that transition from small to big goes through a difficult patch at the period of stress and work and pressure when you really need to push on through to the beautiful other side and it’s hard work. And that’s my job, to help you push through, to help you maintain that momentum, to show you the path so that it’s less hard than it might be on your own, so that perhaps you do it quicker than you might on your own. I think that’s my job to help you do it quicker, to help you see the way, and to help you not give up when it’s a bit tough and it feels a bit hard, and it might be easy to go back to being small or  give up on the dream of building a business you want. Do you want me to help you with that? I hope you do. You know what to do.
